Old Skies: A Temporal Trip Through NYC’s Past

Old Skies, the latest brainchild of the indie studio Wadjet Eye Games, behind the acclaimed Unavowed and the Blackwell mysteries, is now available on PC, Mac, and Linux. In Old Skies, players join time traveler Fia Quinn, who leads clients from the ChronoZen Time Travel Agency on journeys to crucial moments in history. The game spans two centuries, featuring scenarios from the Prohibition era to September 10, 2001, where players must solve puzzles and navigate paradoxes to ensure historical accuracy. Priced at $19.99, Old Skies is offering a launch week discount of 10%, making it a perfect time to embark on this temporal journey.

The game invites players to explore the rich tapestry of New York City through time, with each mission revealing a new layer of its storied past. The developers have gone to great lengths to craft a narrative that is both engaging and thought-provoking, promising an experience that blends historical intrigue with the complexities of time travel. Alongside the game, the official soundtrack is available for just $2.99, providing an auditory glimpse into the game's atmospheric world. Check it out on Steam, GOG, or Humble.

Nintendo Switch players will need to wait a bit longer for Old Skies. Initially slated for release today, the launch has been delayed due to an unexpected chronoshift, but a new release date is forthcoming.

Creative director Dave Gilbert has been crafting story-driven games for nearly 20 years, and Old Skies marks his first personal project since 2018's Unavowed. This title boasts high-resolution graphics, an original score, and professional voice acting, while also referencing themes familiar to fans of Gilbert's previous works like Unavowed and the Blackwell series.
